Getting married near the Western Suburbs of Chicago? Looking for romantic recommendations in the Northwest Chicago area? Read on for a few of my can’t-miss favorites.

The western suburbs of Chicago include great small and large towns like Naperville, Downer’s Grove, Hinsdale, Wheaton, Elmhurst, Glen Ellyn, Arlington Heights, Oak Brook, Itasca, Geneva, and St. Charles. I love the western suburbs of Chicago because there are so many idyllic options to choose from—plus my boudoir studio is located in the area, too!

Northwest Chicago offers a large variety of romantic destinations and experiences for couples to enjoy. Whether you're looking for a charming restaurant, a scenic park, or a cozy bed and breakfast, there are plenty of options to choose from. Here are some romantic destinations and services in Western Chicago you won’t want to miss as a bride-to-be or lady in love.

Morton Arboretum (Lisle)

Enjoy a leisurely romantic walk, celebrate your big day, or get engaged among the trees and gardens at Morton Arboretum. This is a particularly beautiful setting during the fall when the leaves change colors. The Christmas lights festival is one you’ll treasure forever, too! Ideal for that proposal surrounded by twinkly lights.

Downtown Naperville

The downtown area of Naperville is filled with charming shops, restaurants, and cafes. It's a great place to spend an afternoon or evening together. I recommend a fall picnic if the weather agrees near the riverfront or booking a nightly stay with dinner and drinks. It’s the perfect Chicago western suburb for a romantic escape.

Hotel Baker (St. Charles)

If you're looking for a romantic getaway, consider staying at Hotel Baker in St. Charles. It's a historic hotel with a beautiful riverside setting. This hotel and venue-in-one has an Old Hollywood vibe to it that you’ll love. (Psst…It has been host to celebrity weddings like that of Jenny McCarthy and Donnie Wahlberg, too.) I call St. Charles my Mini-San Francisco…it’s so so darling.

Oak Brook Center (Oak Brook)

Perfect for upscale shopping and dining, Oak Brook Shopping Center is a great for running bridal errands, getting wedding necessities, shopping for bridal boudoir lingerie, or celebrating with your loved ones. Don’t miss ice cream at Jeni’s Ice Cream Shop, The Table at Crate for breakfast, and The RH Rooftop for dinner under the lights (talk about romantic!).

Blackberry Farm (Aurora)

Blackberry Farm is a historic village with a focus on scenic recreation and family gatherings. It’s super dreamy in the fall, too. Ideal for small, intimate weddings or taking engagement photos throughout the grounds.

Tivoli Theatre (Downers Grove)

Catch a classic film or a special screening at the Tivoli Theatre in Downers Grove. It offers unique vintage charm that's perfect for a romantic date night.

La Sorella di Francesca (Naperville)

For a romantic dinner, La Sorella di Francesca in Naperville offers a cozy atmosphere and delicious Italian cuisine. You also can’t beat the urban feel as you dine in this stately brownstone. Feels very Sex and The City in the heart of Western Chicago. It’s also part of the Mia Francesca suite of fine dining restaurants—doesn’t get more Chicago then that!

Amélie Boudoir (Western Chicago)

Biased I know…but if you’re looking for French-inspired boudoir you won’t want to miss my studio in the northwest suburbs of Chicago. Easily accessible from different areas of Chicagoland.
