5 Must-Know Summer Bridal Trends for 2024

The world of weddings has been elevated several notches by all of the beautiful wedding trends this year. But being that we are almost approaching the summer months (and prime wedding season!!), I thought I would share my take on The 5 Must-Know Bridal Trends for Summer 2024 you can incorporate into your boudoir aesthetic for stand-out imagery. These 2024 bridal trends will amplify your bridal boudoir shoot and cohesively tie together your wedding look.

2024 Bridal Boudoir Trends

I love photographing backlit bows against natural light because it gives boudoir images a sexy, film-like quality.

Bridal Bows

Yes, bridal bows have been everywhere in 2024, but they aren’t going anywhere—anytime soon. And for good reason! Aside from being classic expressions of femininity, they have a unique way of speaking to bridal moments throughout your wedding journey. Mostly inexpensive, bows can dress up your wedding cake, be added to a swimsuit for your bachelorette, or tie up your wedding dress and boudoir look perfectly. Think the subtle untying of a silk bow to evoke the night is heating up or for romantic storytelling at your boudoir shoot. I love sheer lingerie complimented with bows on a woman’s lower back (like this one I photographed on a beautiful client). I love photographing backlit bows against natural light because it gives boudoir images a sexy, film-like quality.

Bridal Corsets

As mentioned in Martha Stewart Weddings early in the year, corsets are a must-know bridal trend for 2024. Corsets deliver the right kind of drama, and I especially love corsets for boudoir shoots. Corsets are perfect to use for your boudoir shoot if you do not have a corseted wedding dress, but always dreamt of one. Conversely, if you are wearing a corsetted bridal gown and gifting your groom boudoir images on the morning of your wedding, your boudoir images will serve as the perfect hint of what’s to come. I love playing with laced-up corsets in all shapes and sizes to create stunning boudoir images. Corsets are great for flattering your figure, too. These bridal corsets are wonderful to implement in your boudoir shoot and work great under your wedding gown to add shape and structure.

The Coquette Aesthetic

A huge bridal trend for summer 2024 is The Coquette Aesthetic—which is SO Amélie Boudoir. This wedding aesthetic embodies the two trends above but takes things a bit further by also adding pastels, soft draping fabric, and tons of beautiful florals for maximum femininity. Could you think of a better time to incorporate The Coquette Aesthetic than during your bridal boudoir shoot? I can’t either. It’s the perfect time to play up your girliness.

Texture on Texture

Luxurious textured layers are perfect for the wedding day and a popular bridal trend for 2024. I love including this trend during a bridal boudoir shoot as highlighted in the picture above. I tied tulle fabric and added a row of sparkles to accent this lovely bride's boudoir ensemble for added visual interest. Incorporating texture during a boudoir shoot is a simple way to add dimension and easily change up your look.

Dramatic Bridal Veil

Dramatic skirts and trains have been mega popular throughout 2024, but I’m loving a dramatic veil, too. This is especially true during a boudoir shoot. A boudoir shoot is a bride’s time to play…especially if an over-the-top veil might not be her thing for the big day or doesn’t go with the wedding gown. That’s why doing a boudoir shoot is a must! It’s an ideal time for a bride to sample looks she’s always loved, including dreamy hair and makeup. For example, if your dress calls for a bridal up-do, then your boudoir sesh calls for a flirty, down-do. Bridal boudoir is the perfect time to play dress-up.
